MARK AND BETH TWERDOK
Putting financial strength to work to support vulnerable families.
After meeting in college, Mark and Beth Twerdok decided to call Pittsburgh home, where they’ve spent the last 30 years raising their three sons.
Mark is the Office Managing Partner at KPMG, where he serves as acting consulting partner for the banking industry here in Pittsburgh and the national banking industry leader for the advisory.
Mark’s interest in accounting banking started at a young age as he was influenced by a close neighbor. He puts that passion to work in his career and his philanthropic endeavors, which include United Way. “My commitment to United Way started early on. A cornerstone of KPMG’s culture is our commitment to our communities and the firm has always supported me when I wanted to get more involved. I’ve served United Way for nearly three decades as either a contributor, committee member for the impact fund, and now as a board member.”
Mark is also Treasurer of the Board for Wesley Family Services. “I’ve been involved with Wesley Family Services for the last 25 years in different ways and now as a board member, I see first-hand how the funds provided by United Way are strategically allocated to make the greatest impact on local families.”
In the family’s free time, they enjoy boating and golfing. “I’m lucky in the sense that I have three boys, so I always have a foursome to meet up with on summer Wednesday nights for a quick nine holes.”
