MARGIE SOLOCHIER

In her 42 years at United Way, Margie Solochier has seen many things change but one thing remains the same…United Way’s positive impact on people in southwestern PA.

As Regional Manager of Management Accounting and Westmoreland Operations, she assists with budgeting processes, audit preparation, grant reporting for the Westmoreland office, equipment and building leases.

Margie completes a variety of tasks during her workday, from answering emails to attending meetings. Though her days can be hectic, Margie always calls her father-in-law at 9:30 am to ask how he’s doing. It’s her way of connecting with him and keeping him company since he lives in an assisted living community.

The Greensburg resident’s favorite part of working for United Way is the impact the organization has on people in the community. Even though she thinks of herself as a numbers person, Margie loves to interact with people at events like Week of Caring and volunteer projects. In fact, with the help of her family,  for six years she has organized a holiday party at a nearby senior center as part of United Way’s Open Your Heart for the Holidays event.

In her free time, Margie enjoys spending time with her family (especially spoiling her grandsons Owen, Evan and Levi) and glamping at Mountain Pines Campground.
